Skydio “Drone-Henge” Container Experience — Santa Cruz, California

Skydio, the leading U.S. manufacturer of autonomous drones, engaged us to design and deliver a large-scale, container-based activation — a “Drone-Henge” installation styled after an ancient Greek amphitheater. Set at a stunning open-air seaside venue in Santa Cruz, California, the environment was created to showcase Skydio’s latest products and foster direct connection with customers through an immersive, high-impact brand experience.

Client Overview:

The activation required transforming standard shipping containers into a cohesive, architecturally inspired event space that reflected Skydio’s innovative spirit. The final layout consisted of 25 brand-new 20ft containers and 4 container offices, all custom-painted in Skydio’s corporate color palette. Each unit was wrapped with branded graphics and imagery highlighting Skydio’s cutting-edge technology and design ethos.
To achieve visual continuity, many graphics spanned multiple containers — including several large-format wraps that extended across up to three stacked units — requiring precision alignment and on-site application to ensure flawless integration.

Challenge:

We managed every stage of the project from design adaptation and printing to logistics coordination, container modification, and on-site assembly. Working closely with Skydio’s creative and technical teams, we ensured that every design element reinforced brand identity while supporting the functional needs of the activation. Our production team handled graphic printing and application both at our facility and on location, adapting dynamically to on-site conditions to maintain continuity and visual consistency.

Our Role:

Solution & Execution:

The logistics were complex and time-sensitive. Assembly had to take place in a public, open-air setting within an extremely tight schedule. The first deliveries departed our depot at 3:00 a.m., and our team worked continuously through the day and night to ensure all units were positioned and secured in time for Skydio’s technicians to begin installation and testing.
Upon completion of the event, our team also managed the full disassembly and removal process, meeting strict municipal deadlines for site clearance while maintaining safety and precision throughout.

  • Delivered a fully branded, multi-container amphitheater environment for Skydio’s product showcase

  • Applied large-scale, high-resolution graphics with precise alignment across stacked units

  • Executed complex on-site assembly and teardown under challenging logistical and time constraints

  • Reinforced Skydio’s brand through architectural design, color, and immersive storytelling

  • Enabled Skydio to connect with customers and media in a bold, unforgettable setting

Results:

Key Takeaway:

This project demonstrated our ability to merge large-scale structural design with brand storytelling — transforming industrial containers into an elegant, fully branded “Drone-Henge” that reflected Skydio’s innovation and leadership in drone technology.

Working with SuperBox was a fantastic experience. Their service was prompt, communication was seamless, and Marcus quickly understood our vision and unique needs. I’d highly recommend partnering with them.
